Merlo America faced significant challenges following an 18-month dormancy. The company needed to reestablish operations, combat negative perceptions among dealer networks, and rapidly improve its market share, which stood at just 1% in the U.S. Additionally, Merlo America sought to differentiate itself within the agricultural, construction and rental sectors while rebuilding trust with dealers and attracting new customers.

Solution

We partnered with Merlo America to define and execute a strategic roadmap using our proven Maven Method®, which focuses on Develop, Design and Deploy phases.

Develop: Conducted a comprehensive Strategy Session to understand Merlo America’s challenges, opportunities and target audiences. Performed competitor research to identify gaps and differentiators, building a foundation for positioning Merlo as a leader in its market.

Design: Leveraged findings from the Develop phase to craft messaging, visuals and strategies tailored to rebuild dealer trust and resonate with agriculture, construction and rental customers.

Deploy: Provided actionable recommendations and communication strategies to position Merlo America for long-term growth. These included steps to enhance brand awareness, reestablish dealer relationships and effectively engage key customer segments.

Results

Improved Dealer Perception: Developed Brand Messaging and conducted sales training, which has improved communications between Merlo sales representatives and dealers. Developed dealer web page, video and tradeshow marketing, leading to 200 new contacts since launch.
